What is better to bring to Dubai – US dollars or dirhams?

The UAE dirham (AED) is pegged to the US dollar at a rate of 1 USD = 3.67 AED. There is virtually no difference in the exchange rate; however, it is more convenient to bring US dollars, as they can be easily exchanged at any bank, exchange office, or even at Dubai Airport at a favorable rate. Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted.
