Today, we’ll explore Dubai’s first indoor ski resort, where you can enjoy snow and ice activities, meet the penguins, and even grab a bite at places like NORTH 28, Ice Cafe, and Snow and Dine.
Since opening its doors in November 2005 in the Mall of Emirates, Ski Dubai has been one of the world’s most impressive indoor snow parks. Inside Mall of the Emirates, you’ll find a whole alpine experience with ski runs, freestyle rails, and a chairlift to the top of the slope.
Ticket prices vary depending on the activity. General Snow Park access starts from AED 185, while a two-hour ski pass costs around AED 210–220. Full-day ski access costs approximately AED 310–320. Depending on the package, penguin encounters range from AED 230 to over 400. Most passes include ski equipment, jackets, and pants, but gloves and hats are not provided, so don’t forget to bring your own. Some packages include complimentary hot chocolate.
What is Ski Dubai?
This family-friendly indoor ski park offers multiple activities, perfect for both kids and adults. Ski Dubai covers around 22,500 square meters and can accommodate up to 1,500 guests. This unique winter attraction features real snow, and here, you can enjoy activities and even learn to ski like a pro.
Planning a Visit to Ski Dubai
One of Ski Dubai’s main advantages is that visiting it does not require detailed planning: you can come to the resort and jump right into the action. It’s best to visit Ski Dubai during the hot summer (June to September), when the temperature contrast is most enjoyable and the crowds are lighter. Weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) are best for a less crowded experience. Early mornings around 9-10 AM offer fresh snow and minimal lines, while evenings after 6 PM tend to be quieter.
Ways to Get to Ski Dubai
There are several easy ways to get to Ski Dubai: you can take the Red Line metro to the Mall of the Emirates station, which is right at the mall entrance, or order Uber or Careem, as taxis are also widely available and affordable in Dubai. A ride from Downtown Dubai takes about 20 minutes. Additionally, buses such as 81, 93, and F29 also stop near the mall. There’s plenty of underground parking if you’re driving a car. Don’t own one? Rent a car in Dubai and discover the UAE with freedom and convenience.
It’s important to mention that specific Ski Dubai packages, particularly those with penguin encounters or combo tickets, may also come with hotel transfers.
What to Do There?
When you arrive at Ski Dubai, you must buy a ticket first. If you want to save time on the spot, you can book the pass online in advance, but note that you’ll hardly have to wait in line for more than ten minutes. Once you finish showing your ticket and entering, you can go to the changing room and dress appropriately for snow activities, and then you are ready to go to one of the slopes and enjoy the winter sports. Below, we’ll take a closer look at the most popular activities and attractions at Ski Dubai.
