All About Last Exit Park Dubai

What Is the Last Exit Park?

It is important to note right away that there are actually multiple Last Exit parks available in Dubai. There are a total of four locations in the chain, but the most popular spot we are going to cover in this article is situated by the side of the Sheikh Zayed Road south of Dubai and is also known as the AUH Bound.

The park itself is a rather small resting area with restrooms, drive-through cafes, and some entertainment options. Even though such places are always great to have, especially in an all-year-round hot place like Dubai, the main appeal of Last Exit is its unusual setting.

All the locations in the chain were inspired by the Mad Max movies, and the level of decoration is impressive. Every drive-through cafe is stylized as a post-apocalyptic car, and the main building is fully decorated like a thematic hideout.

Planning a Visit to the Park

The Last Exit park is not really a major destination, and there is not so much planning that has to be done. Nevertheless, let us discuss the ways to get there as well as the activities offered on-site.

How to Get There?

As we have previously mentioned, there are four Last Exit Parks operating in Dubai. The most popular one is the AUH Bound, located by Sheikh Zayed Road. It is around 50 kilometers away from Dubai Mall, so it will take you around 30 minutes to get there from the city center. The highway it is situated on leads to Abu Dhabi and the park is located around 90 kilometers from the emirate’s center.

The only two realistic options for visiting this Last Exit park are by ordering a ride there, whether it is a taxi or a personal driver, or by driving there yourself. If you’re planning a trip to Abu Dhabi, you can opt-in for daily or weekly car rental, and enjoy your time in the resting area with no constraints.

An Uber ride to the location will cost you from AED 150 ($40) to AED 200 ($55). Considering the price of renting a car for an entire day is only AED 400 ($110), it is a lot more efficient to reach the park without using a taxi app.

As for the other locations, there is the DXB Bound, which is located right across the road from the AUH Bound, so you can stop by on the way back from Abu Dhabi. Another spot is the Al Khawaneej Bound located in the north-eastern part of Dubai, and the last one is the Al Qudra Bound situated right next to the famous Al Qudra lakes.

What to Do at the Last Exit Park?

Every Last Exit Park is slightly different, but the general concept is similar among them. In the AUH Bound, you can buy snacks or fast food meals in the drive-through food trucks, or enjoy a coffee and some donuts in the same fashion.

After getting your order, you can use the parking area to leave your vehicle and stroll around admiring the post-apocalyptic exhibition on the outside. Then, you can enter the main building to hide from the outside’s heat.

Inside, you will find some tables where you can enjoy the food, some restrooms, and some additional activities. For example, the Al Khawaneej Bound and the DXB Bound are equipped with a playing area for kids, while the AUH Bound offers billiards, paintball, and an arcade room.

Is Last Exit Park Worth Visiting?

The short answer would be yes, the Last Exit Parks are definitely worth visiting. However, they barely work as standalone attractions. Despite the efforts of the owners to provide all sorts of additional activities on the spot, for most people, it is still an entertaining resting area.

As you may have noticed, all the parks are located far away from city centers, so driving there only to spend an hour at the location and then go back is not very efficient. Instead, the best option for visiting them is when you’re on the road to see other attractions such as the Al Qudra lakes, the Al Khawaneej Walk, or any of the destinations in Abu Dhabi.
